Nottingham Cellars Micro-Lot Reserve wines are produced from the finest vineyards in the Livermore Valley that showcase the regions ability to grow world class Bordeaux Varieties. Each variety is site specific and was chosen as one of our finest offerings available.
The 2015 Fraser Howard Chardonnay represents a benchmark vintage in our Chardonnay production. Since we started making wine in 07, Chardonnay has seen some major tweaks in our regimen and the overall outcome of the wines. The wine making process is a journey, and just like anything in life we have a tendency to overcompensate when we feel we need to swing the pendulum. From the richest style, back to a leaner citrusy style we went. At the end the pendulum sits in the middle, a balance of all worlds. The wine has just the right amount of richness while maintaining a balance of acid, wood and fruit all for you to have the best.
Hand-picked on the morning September 9th, brought to the winery and pressed whole cluster. Wine was fermented in 50% new French oak with native yeast & 50% 2nd use French oak and inoculated with cy3079. 100% ML post primary with aggressive lees stirring in barrel.
