A Message from The Cranor Family
We want to personally thank you for your support of our family winery. The wine business is a journey, and we are grateful to have you on board the ship!
Since you are a member here, you know what we are all about - The Product. And while we have done some things recently to dial up the aesthetic of our packaging, website, etc, we have always been about finding exceptional growing partners and bringing you wines from the best vineyards we can get our hands on.
When we started the journey, Vasco Road was the perfect place to get rolling. The hospitality of the industry here is incredible, and we were welcomed into the community with open arms. We are so grateful for this community, as this is the place we met most of you.
As you probably know, Nottingham moved its production to Napa in 2021, and we have been using our warehouse only for hospitality since. When we were making wine and hosting folks here, this ample space made sense. However, in this economy, our family venture needs to move on from Vasco as we no longer utilize this space for production. June 18 is our final day of regular service at our Vasco Road location.
We are actively looking for a new location in Livermore to host you and hope to have an announcement on that soon.
Going forward, we have dialed up the events in Livermore for the second half of the year. We believe that focusing our efforts on creating incredible experiences will make us more accessible and show Nottingham’s commitment to offering exceptional wines and hospitality.
While it is bittersweet to be moving on from the building we called home, this leaner NC will be able to provide more creative ways to engage with you all and serve you better.
Please see attached list of new perks at NC, our latest roster of vineyard sources, and a calendar for the remainder of 2023. We hope you are excited to come to see us at our events and at our new production facility in Napa Valley.
We are so grateful for your membership. The wines in the pipeline come from some of the most sought-after vineyards in Napa Valley, Sonoma County, and beyond and we are hitting new strides in the cellar.
We want to make it clear that while we are saying goodbye to our warehouse on Vasco, we are still actively engaged in the Livermore Valley wine community. We are incredibly grateful to folks like the Purple Orchid and Zephyr Grill for allowing us to host pop-up events on their properties as we look for our next home in Livermore. See the link below for more details on next steps.
The show goes on!
Cheers,
- The Cranor Family
FAQ
Q: Why is Nottingham moving on from the Vasco location?
A: This has been a very challenging and nuanced decision for my family and me to make. Vasco Rd is part of who we are and will forever be part of our DNA. Since we moved production off Vasco, we have been on the hunt for a new retail space in Livermore to serve you all better. While we are grateful for the many years here, we have always struggled with issues like parking, ambiance, and the overall aesthetic of the space, and the fact that we use about 20% of our big warehouse four days a week for 5 hours per day. We are a small family-owned business, and those costs add up quickly.
Q: I’m a “pickup member”; what's happening to my membership?
A: The major change right now is moving to a shipping-only model. Rather than picking your wine up, you will receive your wines delivered right to your door. The most important thing to do right now is to log in to your account and make sure your shipping address is up to date. If you need any assistance, please feel free to contact us. More on that below.
Q: I’m a “shipping member”; what changes for me?
A: Not much, other than, in the short term, not having a tasting room. However, you are also invited to visit us in Napa or at one of our numerous pop-ups that will be in Livermore and the surrounding areas.
Q: Where can I taste Nottingham wines?
A: We have a ton of pop-up tasting events through the end of the year in and around Livermore and will be adding more. We are also happy to host you for private tastings (complimentary for members) by appointment at our Napa facility. You can email us to schedule a tasting or click here. Additionally, Stacey is working on a program to do in-home tastings for our members. We will have more details on this offering coming soon.
Q: Is Nottingham leaving Livermore?
A: No! Quite the opposite. We have lined up lots of incredible events to stay engaged in Livermore while we continue to look for the right spot in Livermore. In the event we find a space that works for us, we will be back up and rolling!
Q: If I have questions, who do I contact?
A: The best way to contact us right now is at info@nottinghamcellars.com. The entire team has eyes on this account and depending on the nature of your question, you should receive a quick response.
